Rick Dalmazzi, President & CEO

Rick is a security industry veteran with 10+ years experience running software companies.

Prior to joining VoIPshield, Rick was President & CEO of Symbium Corp., a company doing pioneering work in applying telecom architectures and principles to IT systems management and security.

Before Symbium, Rick was President and CEO of Certicom Corp., where he oversaw a 25X growth in revenue and valuation, and took the company public on Nasdaq. Certicom is a developer of wireless and wireline security technology, headquartered in Silicon Valley during Rick's tenure. Certicom's customers included enterprises, telecom carriers, telecom infrastructure vendors, and device manufacturers.

Prior to Certicom, Rick was EVP Business Development for Geoworks Inc., a developer of embedded operating systems. Rick traveled extensively in Asia where he forged strategic relationships with global consumer electronics companies.

Rick started his career at IBM Corporation, where he held various senior sales, marketing and general management positions. Before leaving IBM Canada for Silicon Valley, Rick held the position of Country Manager, PC Software, Canada.

Rick holds a Mathematics and Computer Science degree from University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Bogdan Materna, Founder & CTO

Bogdan brings over fifteen years experience in product development and building carrier grade management and security products to VoIPshield.

Prior to founding VoIPshield, Bogdan was a founder and CTO of Linmor Technologies, a public company, where his teams designed and built performance and management products for large carriers including AT&T and MCI. Bogdan also held various engineering and research positions at Nortel Networks, Microtel Pacific Research and University of Ottawa, and holds a number of patents.

Bogdan is a sought-after author and speaker on the subject of VoIP security, and is an active member of the VoIP Security Alliance.

Andrey Markov, Ph.D., Director of Research

Andrey heads a team of researchers in Ottawa, Canada and Chernivtsy, Ukraine doing leading-edge work in discovering vulnerabilities in VoIP implementations, including SIP-specific and vendor-specific threats.

Andrey received his doctorate in Physics and Mathematics, and was named Chief of Computer Laboratory at the National University of Chernivtsy, Ukraine. He has held a number of research and development positions in Europe and North America, focusing on network protocols and security systems.

Jacek Materna, Director of Software Development

Jacek heads a team of developers in Ottawa, Canada doing leading edge work on next-generation VoIP security products. Prior to joining VoIPshield, Jacek did research at the University of Toronto in 0-day threat mitigation systems where he also received his Bachelor’s in computer science.

Jacek is an avid technology evangelist and is particularly interested in how the ubiquitous nature of IP is changing the VoIP security landscape. He also rolls with a VoIP portal over at BleedingVoIP

Paul Dombowsky, Director of Marketing

Paul oversees all corporate, product and channel marketing and communications, the building and operating of the VoIpshield Channel Program, and business development for VoIPshield Systems.

Paul joined VoIPshield at the start of 2008 after working as a salesforce.com consultant with CRM Advantage. Prior to that, he spent over two years as a marketing specialist with Meriton Networks through multiple acquisitions and product launches.

Paul has over eight years experience as a technology marketer with expertise in building marketing systems to support market building and business development activities. He is a graduate of Acadia University where he received a BA in Political Science.
